The Gold Star Mission is always looking for additional Volunteers!
There are numerous volunteer opportunities, depending on where you are located and how much time you’d like to “donate”!
Annually, the Gold Star Mission conducts grueling endurance events throughout Illinois.
There are numerous volunteer positions required to make these events happen! Examples:
Pre-Event Planning & Coordination.
Pre-Event Outreach.
Pre-Event Registration.
Event Safety.
Event Rest Stop/Refreshment Stations.
Support Vehicle Operators (bicycling events).
Public Relations/Media Contacts.
Photographers.
End-of Event Ceremony.
The Gold Star Mission’s 2026 endurance events include:
Illinois State Fair Parking Gate Fundraiser (Springfield) (15 Aug 2026)
10th Annual Gold Star 500 (Chester to Schaumburg - Route 66) (22-26 Sep 2026)
In addition to these events, there are many other activities, throughout the year, that the Gold Star Mission Team supports and participates in to raise awareness of the service and sacrifices of our Fallen Service Members! Volunteers are always welcomed to assist in these activities! Including:
